It is also wide to consider that if both parents in the household smoke that the children are two times more likely to begin smoking than children who are born and raised in cigarette free homes.

Consider that if one smoker has a pack a day habit, they can save as much as $700 a year assuming their cigarettes only cost $2 per pack. Raise the price to $4 per pack for some major brands and these savings jump to $1400 per year! This is a huge savings that will increase even more as cigarette prices and taxes continue to rise.

People who have decided to quit smoking also report being able to taste foods much better and report having a better sense of smell after quitting. No longer is everything shrouded behind the smell of cigarettes, instead former smokers are able to actually smell things the way they are intended. This is often a quit liberating experience for many former smokers as they are able to explore all of the things they have been missing out on for so long.

Smoking facts also show that people who set a specific date to quit smoking tend to be much more successful than those who just quit with no set date. Other things that can help increase success is putting away all ashtrays and destroying all cigarettes left.
